City Council Update (No meeting on 4/16/18)

The City Council will not meet on Monday, April 16, 2018 (Patriots Day). The annual observance ceremony and reenactment of Patriot William Dawes’ horseback ride will take place on Cambridge Common, starting at 10am.

The Public Safety Committee will meet Tuesday, April 17, from 2-4pm, to discuss a new draft of an ordinance related to surveillance technology used by the city and its law enforcement officers.

The Cambridge Science Festival is underway and events continue through April 22.

Last week’s roundtable meeting on Climate Change Preparedness and Resiliency planning is recapped here by Cambridge Day. The latest Envision Alewife working group meeting on mobility is also recapped here. At our next City Council meeting on April 23 the agenda will include a citizens’ zoning petition that suggests a number of new requirements to make future developments in flood-prone neighborhoods, including but not limited to Alewife, more resilient.
